Kazakhstan Eyes UAE As Agricultural Export Market

Kazakhstan is interested in exporting agriculture production to the United Arab Emirates, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan has stated. Speaking at the Kazakhstan-UAE Investment Roundtable, President Tokayev said that cooperation in this field has the potential to lead to mutually beneficial results for both nations.

“Our country has high hopes for partnership in the field of agriculture. Kazakhstan is ready and willing to produce and supply organic agricultural products to the UAE market. We invite both companies already operating in Kazakhstan and other UAE companies to invest in the food industry,” Tokayev noted.

President Tokayev concluded by saying that Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates enjoy fruitful cooperation. The UAE has invested around US$3 billion in Kazakhstan, while Kazakhstan’s contribution to the UAE economy is estimated to be around US$1 billion. Trade turnover between the nations reached US$600 million by the end of 2022.

Tokayev participated in the Investment Roundtable in the framework of his visit to the UAE. During the visit, he met with several high-ranking officials, including the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. As a part of the visit, the sides signed 9 documents on cooperation in several fields.

Kazakhstan investors will find a fruitful and relatively easy to manage business environment in the UAE. The ease of doing business is sophisticated and relatively simple, taxes are low, while Russian is widely spoken.
